MEMBERS OF THE FIRM

HUGH S. McLELLAN* was born in Vancouver and obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree (1979) and Bachelor of Law degree (1982) from the University of B.C. He articled and practised in Vancouver until forming McLellan Herbert in 1992. Mr. McLellan is a past chair of the Canadian Bar Association National Elder Law Section and a past chair of the CBA-BC Elder Law sub-section. He is a former chair of the Canadian Bar Association Wills and Trusts (Vancouver) sub-section. Mr. McLellan an author of numerous articles on estate litigation and elder law, and a frequent lecturer for the Professional Legal Training Program, the People's Law School and Continuing Legal Education. In 2004, Mr. McLellan was awarded the Community Service Award by the CBA for his work with groups supporting mentally challenged citizens. He is also a member of the Estate Planning Council of Vancouver and is an associate editor of the Estates & Trusts Reports. Mr McLellan is a contributing editor of Financial & Estate Planning for Mature Client in British Columbia and a contributor to the Annotated B.C. DEIDRE J. HERBERT* was born in Williams Lake, B.C. and obtained her Bachelor of Commerce degree (1989) and Bachelor of Law degree (1989) from the University of British Columbia. Ms. Herbert was an adhoc Bencher for the Law Society of British Columbia (Unauthorized Practice) from 1992 until 1994 and is a former chair of the Canadian Bar Association Wills & Trusts (Vancouver) sub-section. She is also a contributing author to CLE's Estate Planning and Wealth Presentation, CLE’s Annotated Estates Practice and is a frequent lecturer for the Professional Legal Training Program, People's Law School and Continuing Legal Education. * law corporation
